“Everyone is going to die and no one is going to remember you, so … fuck it.” - Billie Eilish

Tablet mock up for The Venom We Bleed with book title, author, star rating, and tropes, on a black background

This was - in a word - intense. In a good way, of course. I do wish we spent more time with the boys though, I thoroughly enjoyed their points of view. They were all that perfect mix of unhinged psycho and big ol’ softy that we all love in a dark romance book boyfriend. Nolan is the controlling alpha, Gio is the unapologetic flirt, and Lex is the (maybe just a little bit deranged) stalker. They certainly made the legs squeeze together a few times.

While I can empathise and understand Juliet’s pain and reluctance to trust anyone, she did annoy me a bit. There’s a line between being unable to trust anyone because of what you’ve gone through and flatly refusing to and blaming that on everyone else. She tips onto that side. As I said, I get it, but it was a little tiring.

I did love the story though, the boys definitely made it for me. I just want to know more and get deeper into the backstories and everything that’s happening while we’re focusing on Juliet instead of Nolan, Lex, or Gio.

Thank you to TorchLit Ink and Lucy Smoke for giving me the opportunity to read and review this story!
