“Henri gripped the hilt of his sword and maintained a defensive stance as he watched the desert warriors slowly surround them.”

This world that has been woven throughout the series so far is so magical and vivid - the lands feel lived in, and the characters feel like family.

Continuing on the adventure with Henri, Malik, Tahlia, Ele, and Kala as they fight for their lands and people and their own lives. I loved the introduction of Isa and his point of view. Learning more about the Naiab gave even more context to the world. We also learn more about the gods and goddesses - and even meet a couple!

So much happened in this story that it’s difficult to say much without spoilers so I’m keeping it as vague as possible. It was a rollercoaster of adventure, love, friendship, family… and so many emotions.

Thank you Claire for giving me the opportunity to read and review your beautiful story!
